Have to add that I knew this guy who, while not religious himself, insisted to his wife that if they had kids they must send the kids to religious instruction and church (catholic). His wife asked why. He said that he had a friend who was raised in a non-religious house who later became a crazy fundie type. So they would send their kids to church/religious instruction because "how else are they going to learn to hate it?" Thought that was pretty brilliant.gmbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12838413091600247047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3221819058568684886.post-67853488814346574612010-02-18T21:47:34.479-05:002010-02-18T21:47:34.479-05:00I think you did an excellent job with the on this....I think you did an excellent job with the on this. I have to agree with you that the actions of this group (and the youth minister) were totally out of line. But then, that's how I feel about many of the people like them. It reminds me of a woman that my mother went to high school with. After years of not seeing her, mom ran into her at a neighbor's house here in Birmingham. The woman was heavily involved in an independent evangelical church (very popular over here.) As the mom was leaving, the woman reached into mom's car, locked her car door and said "We have to keep you safe, since we won't be in heaven together."

I was raised Roman Catholic. I no longer consider myself Roman Catholic. I am really more like you....nice to know I'm not alone.

P.S. - I think Nate will be fine.Latkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06248245478315689002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3221819058568684886.post-53614726627869627492010-02-18T19:57:14.111-05:002010-02-18T19:57:14.111-05:00What Bob said. What Bob said.Utah Savagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16385093247915560752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3221819058568684886.post-55501681574949291152010-02-18T17:00:36.083-05:002010-02-18T17:00:36.083-05:00I just read the previous post and decided to read ...I just read the previous post and decided to read this one (as it was obviously a continuation) before commenting... it seems to me that the natural course of events has occurred.
