Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere....

.....a person wonders just why their food isn't grindin' up so good anymore......

Yesterday a couple of Spawn and I saw this sign at the little country store a few miles from our house.

I'm tellin' you, People of the Internets, this was worth climbing through through the sunroof to the horror of my children and the applause of the old couple in the car next to us.

(Sorry I've been not so busily leaving comments around like I normally do, y'all. That whole work thing is so very demanding lately. And then there's the house-hunting, organizing that naked-flashlight tag tournament for next weekend, and the class in How to Be a Republican in a Democrat World I'm taking is so interesting! I can't stop thinking about it! Be back at it soon.)

  1. Oh my gawd! This was the first post that popped up when I opened my Google Reader just now and before even reading it I just lost it over that sign. How would one lose one's teeth in a country store? The story possibilities are endless. Perhaps you should create a story meme?

  2. At least you weren't playing naked flashlight tag when you climbed out of the sunroof. That is one funny photo. Do they also have a stash of virginities there? You know, just in case the tag goes well.

  3. Use a fairly large caliber when house-hunting, say a .338.
Stealth is key - They startle easily, and a quick hip shot on the run might not be sufficient to bag such big game.

    ;>)

  7. Has McCain still been campaigning in your hood? That would explain a lot. PS: Road trip is still on.

  9. I'll be there for the tourney. It's been hard to train naked with these low temps but so worth the sacrifice.

  10. When I was in college, I worked part time at a Dunkin' donuts. We had some truckers who would stop regularly. One day one of them asked me if I could look down and get something he had dropped. So I looked down and saw his upper plate staring at me. I grabbed about a million napkins, picked it up and gave it back to him. Then I discreetly went into the kitchen area and washed my hands for a very very long time.

  11. In Georgia, you just know a lotta toothless people will pretend those choppers belong to them.
I bet the clerk makes them identify the kinds of food particles left in the teeth to make sure they go to the actual owner and not some fancy pants, tooth-havin' wannabe.

  12. i wonder how many people who can't afford dental insurance rushed the store to insist that the teeth belonged to them. too funny!

  14. Wonder how many will claim the teeth??

    You have naked flashlights???

No fair using a bail pile when househunting. You have to track them down on your own!!

  16. Well, I knew they were either at that store or the roadside stand where I bought some boiled peanuts....

  17. Boiled peanuts remove any doubt that people in the Deep South have severe mental problems.
Yes, I have tried them, and they are what I imagine eating salty/soggy rabbit droppings would be like.

  18. YES one must climb through a sunroof for this kind of thing! All the better if it mortifies your progeny! This is spectacularly fantastic! Spectastic?
