High Falutin' Saturday Doings

First I was going to tell you that I was going fishing.

But I knew you'd never believe that.

So I decided to cut the crap and tell you the truth. I'm taking the Female Royal Pains (I'm sick of calling them spawn, it's so cliched now) out for a day of high cultural activities. Including.....

A visit to the Friends of Library Book Sale.

And then a light Ladies Lunch of cheeseburgers and fries in some diner or drive-thru.

And then, oh....I don't know.....a slow stroll through the local shops......

Because we're trying to support our local community with our dollars.

And as for you? Have a good Saturday, okay? I'll be back later to tell you how some idiot driver annoyed me or how some mouth breathing yahoo ticked me off or how the Female Royal Pains cramped my style while I tried to flirt with some elderly man-meat at the booksale.

Same old, same old.....you know.........

  1. Enjoy your day with the girls. Me, I've got a wedding reception, so it'll be a late night filled with debauchery, I hope. We celebrated Miriam's 8th b-day today, even tho it's tomorrow because the kids and the wife are leaving tomorrow for a few days.

  3. haha...just taking my male spawn, his girlfriend, my Mom, Step-dad and future wife to the wedding of her son. It's all good, but I don't think there is any alcohol there.

Guess I will have to sneak some in.

  4. I'm telling myself to get out there and clean up the tree mess I moved off my driveway. But... It just doesn't sound very fun.

I think you babes have the right idea.

  11. I know all about Female Royal Pains. I have two living with me for the summer. It isn't always magna cum laude graduations and romantic elopments to SF, ya know. ;-)

I hope you get some time for yourself, with that cramp in your style!

  17. I'm still supporting Amazon, our postman and the friendly UPS driver. Sometimes it's more fun getting the world delivered to my door.

  20. About the Ross Diner, Lisa: You ever had a right proper Po' Boy? Mmmm, M! Damn best eatin' at an affordable price south of the Mason Dixon line. I dunno if you get them in GA but Po' Boy shops are pretty common in MS, where I lived in late '89/early 90. And how unusual is it for one to recall a specific meal they'd gotten for cheap by the roadside nearly 20 years ago? We have nothing like that here. All we have are overpriced "grinders", as the New Englanders call them.
