Only the Lonely....

About the comment moderation I've switched on....sorry about that. I hate to inconvenience you guys, but a very brave and highly-principled anonymous someone who doesn't like me at all visits a lot and makes the most hilarious comments that you can't see because I am a coward who only blogs under her real name and without the aid of a proxy server, but whatever. I guess it depends on what the meaning of (is a) coward is.

The whole visiting blogs you hate to make nasty comments thing is something I'll never understand....

  1. It's an odd thing to me, too. How some people get snagged on other people sometimes and then they get hateful about it, like it's your fault they're obsessed with you, when you'd rather they went away.

If I'm getting this straight. I'm experiencing mild dementia today.

  3. Ah, Lisa, it's natural....someone with no life, no prospects, bitter and twisted with envy, and as shallow as a puddle will always feel spite and malice towards someone like you. :))

  4. I really don't understand that either. And it's just sad that this person spends so much time worrying about you when they clearly have much bigger problems than what you might or might not be doing. Good for you for calling this out.

  5. Wow! You seem to attract Texans!

  7. I visit blogs I dig to make nasty comments. That's still welcome here, right? If not, I'll start bringing a mop and bucket.

  8. Aw, the stats were fuzzy on my iPod screen. I will have to check on my laptop, but I am Not stalking you, even if a suspiciously similar ip address shows up.

I can see an improvement in the intensify of your writing and the clarity of your "voice" since you went to Wednesday-only posting. I hope you are enjoying writing your book.

  9. Sorry you're having to go through the hassle of moderating. It seems to happen to all of us on a semi-regular basis.

  10. Wordpress will allow me to ban an IP address or linked name or email address. Don't know about Blogger, tho.

  11. Wow.

I return often to re-read posts, catch up on other comments, and in hopes of a Commute Chat.

I worried that *I* visited too often.

  12. Oh honey you've got to know by now that that part of TX has some serious gene pool fungus. No amount of chemicals will get it out, neither.

xo on ya and hope all is well. I don't visit enough, either.

  13. Oh and you can ban up to three IP addresses to your blog at toolator.com. Or at least you used to be able to, might check that out.

All three of my bans are from Texas, btw.

  14. It's the whole anonymous/virtual mindset. These same folks are probably quite timid and constricted when they're not being virtual assholes.

  15. Dang. Well, should you need backup, I'm within driving distance of McAllen...obviously this person needs some discipline and I own leather...

  19. I understand how we get obsessed with you. You are one very compelling broad: smart, beautiful, funny, honest, outspoken, and gorgeous (I already said that, but it bears repeating).

I hate to have you change your behavior because of some dipshit crackpot. I have had a troll or two, but I just shitcan their comments until they get bored posting their hatred and coming back to gloat and finding it vanished. So far that's worked for me, but then I'm not as attractive as you. I think some people just enjoy hurting those they know won't pay any attention to them unless they're say truly vile things.

I posted something for you today because I woke up to news that Georgia is under water. I wrote it first thing. before I'd finished my coffee and smoke. Obviously my mind isn't quite functioning until I have enough caffine and nicotine on board. You don't live in Georgia, do you? Well sometimes it's the thought that counts. Now I have to go to Kevin and tell him the same thing. But really, when it floods in Georgia, it'll probably flood in Alabama won't it? So consider this an early warning system, or just another apology, whichever works for you.

  20. So sorry to hear about the jerk who is forcing you to moderate comments! What is it with some people???

  21. I use the comment system I have because it allows me to block assholes.

I use it quite frequently too. I have little tolerance for fuckwits lately.

  22. I have been doing comment moderation for some time now, but am thinking of dropping it when I get back to having daily access to the intratubes. It'll be interesting to see how long that'll last.

  23. Bleah. Too many people improperly socialized or worse. Mostly worse.

    Saw this; hope you're OK.

  24. geez, the blogs seem to be crawling with slimeballs and chinese sex fiends who somehow choose to converse through my old blog posts...

Anyway, I've also had Chinese Ed visit me and I was quite aroused. (kidding!) People are assholes with no life, and are jealous of your wit and talent. Keep on doing what you're doing we all love you.
