With Matches

Happy Fourth of July, People of the Internets.
Now let's go twirl some sparklers and aim bottle rockets at each other.

I doubt that when our founding fathers chose to fight for freedom from tyranny, they did so in order to provide a nation where each industry, aided by its purchased politicians, could hold us stagnant for their benefit and profit alone while these United States miss so many more opportunities for greatness.

On this day, let us celebrate the many ways in which our freedom has allowed us to achieve greatness, but let us never lose sight of the fact that we have been, can be so much better than we are right now.

Interesting info here.

  4. I'm more a traditionalist ... a few bottles of Jack Daniels, my 12 gauge shotgun ... then toss the empties in the air and blast away. Now, that's celebrating!

And there's always Team America: World Police to watch :).

  6. Hey Lisa~ I'm gonna exercise my freedom to say my old eyes really had to strain to read the light colored text on the new layout. Black or a darker color would really help.
Hope you don't mind the feedback.

OK ~ that being said hope you enjoy the day & have some kind of revolution of your own.

  8. I'm thinking a moment of silence on the 4th wouldn't be a bad idea. It's so easy to get swept up in the chaos of hot dogs and fireworks and children stretched to their limit. We need to simplify the day in order to remind ourselves of its significance.

  9. I was at Fenway Park yesterday watching the Red Sox (lose!). They did the huge flag, Rockets Red Glare song and a flyover. They also did a surprise visit home by a soldier and honored some others. Really nice. Sitting there I was thinking, look at all these great, united Americans. When did we lose that?
